can ne 1 give me a list of supplies and instructions on how to build a gas chamber? thanx im getting tired of the whacking myself, i am becoming more num to the act, and im kind of scaring myself! ooh well anything for my snake

Here are directions to building your own gas chamber

Another suggestion gleaned from Eddie on RTB:

Put the rats in a tank ( glass ) seal the top with either plastic or foil, then I put dry ice (CO2) in a tupperware container 1/2 filled with water (a hole in the lid also) then put it inside the tank and ensure the seal is good.

For the bottled CO2, same principles apply. rats in a container that is pretty much air tight, open the valve on the bottle while placing the hose or pipe in the tank to deliver the CO2.

Some people do have neat set ups, with the bottles pipe permanently into the container and the bottle is refillable type similar to and some times is a paintball constant air bottle.

Safety note : When handling dry ice or other CO2 products, wear good quality leather gloves and eye protection.

Here's how I do it... it's similar to Eddie's

I take a bucket with a lid (In this case a kitty litter bucket). I add the rodents to the bucket. I then take a deli cup half full of hot water (water temp changes how fast the gas is produced) and push dry ice through the holes i've precut in the lid and quickly place the delicup in the bucket and seal the top. I feel that it doesn't matter if it's an air tight seal as i don't want to pressurise the bucket. also CO2 is heavier then air so it stays in the bottom of the bucket and pushes the regular air out, hastening the demise of the rodents. also i like to work in a well ventilated place as we have cats and a dog and some of our cages are low and i don't wanna gas them along with the rodents.
