Simon, that's a nice snake, but the ground color I'm looking for in a Miami phase corn is gray w/ no hint of orange.Saddles should be maroon, brick red or similar. Mine are from Len Krysko stock. Thanks, Mark

Yeah I know what you mean. I got a bit dissapointed too when this guy grew up and started having these orange and reds turning in. The bad thing is that I got it from a pet store. I wouldn't resists because that pet store SUCKED. It didn't know how to take care of it's animals.....it was feeding crickets and it's condition wasn't that good. Besides....it looked kind of nice when it was young.....
but o well.....it's a heathy snake right now.....
and I have 1.2 Milk Snake Phase corn snakes (from Rich Zuchowski) to replace this old guy....so that my bloodline would be better later on in the future...

Fantastic, Simon.I also recently "rescued" a snake from a pet shop. While I try to check on as many as I can and help out when possible,I seldom bring one home. It's a FL X Cal king and looks real good now. See kingsnake forum- I'll post it there. Mark

Good Job.
I try not to buy bad snakes from pet shop because if I buy them that means they will order more in. But this miami was in such a bad condition I couldn't leave him there. I would guess that if I didn't bring him back, he would have been starved. But if possible, I would try and hold back and not buy anything from them....cause most of them don't know what they are doing.....stupid pet shops......o well...hahh
good thing that you saved a snake though...

Well, now that particular shop buys from ME (colubrids anyway) and asks for help whenever she needs it. Just got a load of Cal. kings today from me. I said if I come in and see a problem, I'll bring it up.2nd time- she loses me(and as many others as I care to tell). I have bought back and/or removed my animals that I thought were in trouble before! Most owners are genuinely concerned with the well-being of their animals, but some get in over their heads when they get animals in that they know little or nothing about.Get to know them and offer up help/advice nicely and most will respond positively in my experience.Mark
