I have a bull snake And I dont know what to use as substrate, I thought about sand, I'm using newspaper but I dont like it. I want something cheap that looks nice. No carpets of any kind. WHat should I use/get. Help ME!!!!
Orcid bark. You can buy it at any plant place. Art Knapps, Home Depot, Revy/Rona etc. They use it for.....well orcids. It is exactly the same as Zoo med Repti bark for a fraction of the price. I get two cubic feet for $19.99. So if it poops you can scoop it and chuck it. It can hold humidity well if you want to spray it and I haven't had it mold yet. Hope this helps.Tim.
We used shredded aspen for our bullsnakes - relatively cheap, looks nice and only problem was they are so active that they kept getting it into the water dishes.
