Will a ceramic heat emitter damage glass (crack etc) when used in a front facing aquarium? What do you use for a door? Who ever has converted their aquarium to lay on its side please PM me as I have a few more questions!
Thanks
-Jeff
I would say YES! I had a large pane of glass on my iguanas cage...about 5 inches away (and pointing DOWN) was the Ceramic Heat Emitter....and although the basking site wasn't too hot, it totally cracked the glass one day.
They get extremely hot and no doubt in my mind the glass would crack if you put it close enough to be of any real use.
I have all 20 aquariums turned on their side...I use plexi glass sliders and heat pads or tape...the heating pads(human) are inside rather than outside/under because the aquariums are stacked and the pads need open space or they crack the glass...
