Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
So, I decide I should make a topic about my currently owned king, Spitfire and maybe for other Lampropeltis I might get in the future as well.
So, here is Spitfire, my probably 3 years old, male Desert Kingsnake. He is my first snake I ever own and my favorite as well. A really gorgeous member of my collection and is the biggest snake as well (With the exception of Big Mama the flying snake which is longer but much lighter than him.)
Spitfire is just like a stereotype of king snake, very ravenous but docile and very curious. The only downside of him is that he doesn't like to curl on my arm and will try to go down and down while I am holding him. He is very terrible at climbing.
At least, he is very good at being taken photo!

Re: Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
Thank you everyone! Spitfire sure is the most loved snake by everyone in the house. (Well, as long as I can conceal the fact that he almost swallow my finger once.)

Re: Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
Uhh because of this thread I'm now thinking about getting one desert king too... It's good that we totally don't have place at the moment and I must wait till we move to bigger house, but still... I'm tempted.

Re: Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
Oh, you are gonna love them! They are kind of funny snake with two different sides. They are sweet and docile during normal time, but when they smell food, they are like shark! xD If you like snake with great feeding response then this is your snake!

Re: Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
Haha, my russian rats are the same, nice gentle snakes, but when food is near then they are like monsters, striking at everything I guess I'll need one king in my collection then!

Re: Meet the king of Slither's kingdom!
My Russian must be an oddball--I've hand fed her more than once. She almost never strikes at her food.
Then again my kingsnake is ALSO atypical, and prefers that I leave his food next to his hide and then not observe him eating. Haha. None of that famous enthusiasm for eating here!
