Winter Shipping Blues
Ugh, it's killing me having this beautiful enclosure to look at but no beautiful RTB inside to also enjoy looking at.
This is the set up for my baby Super Coral Sunglow RTB from Russo's Reptiles. This week would have the right temps but he's coincedentally on vacation this week. Looks like my next chance is a month away. Sigh...
I let some of the humidity out for a while to get these clear pics. Modified this 20L tank with a wood top cover to hold in humidity and black styrofoam walls on the outside to insulate it. Temps and humidity holding steady, just need the weather to warm up to get my lil' one in. Just so ya'll know, the lamp up top is mainly for light. There is a UTH below with a thermostat. Also got a digital thermo/hydro and temp gun to further monitor things. Also, yes, I'm fully aware a 20L won't last long. I'll probably be upgrading soon to something both bigger and taller.
On the cool side(to the right) there is a hide back there, just difficult to see for the foliage.

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
Yeah, I'm hating it. I was excited to see this week would be compatible with the breeder's live arrival guarantee, but he said he'd be in Florida this week. My next window of opportunity will probably be the week of Feb 11th.

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
i know how you feel mate.....
i remember having to wait 3 months on the weather getting warmer, before i could get my first Diamond Python back in 2008,i was worse than a kid waiting on xmas...
i drove my poor family mad,as i wandered around the house muttering about Diamonds and bloody cold weather under my breath...
the kids used to wind me up though
cheers shaun

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
Beautiful setup dude. Sometimes I have the feeling that our pets have better houses than us :P. Good luck, hope the wait is shorter than expected.

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
Thanks Rattlehead Yeah, I really spoil my reptiles lol. And I hope it's not too long, too.
Yeah, I'm also cursing the weather whenever someone brings it up, Shaun. It's been either a few degrees short or a lot short of what it needs to be I keep crossing my fingers for a few extra degrees lol.

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
Kentucky, about middle of the line in the US, eastern side. :/ We're not too up north, I'm sure states like Michigan and Maine are locked for MONTHS, lol. I can't imagine. Russo said he goes as low as 30F, but won't go any lower and I respect that. This week would of been perfect, but, as I said, he's on vacation this week.

Re: Winter Shipping Blues
Setup looks great, the wait will just make getting your boa that much better.
