Hi names Roy i keep Leopard Gecko's ! Snakes scare the hell out of me but still interest me .

A friend of mine in the UK has a huge reticulated python that decided he wanted more room and pushed the side right out of the viv he just built for it !
3 inch nails and 4 by 4 frame popped open like card board

They are strong for sure! There's a reason why someone says "darn, look at them pythons" when talking about a strong mans arms, lol.

Don't let your buddies snake incident scare you, he should have looked into reinforcing the enclosure with brackets/braces.

When researched thoroughly and treated with respect, common sense, and actual knowledge, keeping snakes is safe and fun!

Hello and welcome.

Right there would be part of how the Retic was able to push it out. Always use screws when building cages for extra strength. Screws wouldn't come out as easy. Plus if it can push against the side hard enough to pop the side off he most likely needs a bigger cage.
