I think Enzo is getting ready to shed :)

I noticed today his black scales and eyes are looking more blue-ish and he looks duller in general... I hope he is going to shed soon!!

Especially the scales on his belly look really blue!

Cloudy eyes too.

Once they start looking like this, is there an average time it takes for them to complete the shed? Currently, his temps stay around 85 F on the hot side, 78-81 on the cool side, and 92-95 basking. Humidity is usually around 45%. Should I mist or add a humid hide to aid with shedding or are those numbers ok? I just want him to have a solid first shed with me

Re: I think Enzo is getting ready to shed :)

You can also spray the tank a few times a day to keep the humidity up around 80%+ to aid with shedding. It usually takes around a week from going into the blue to shed.

You will notice him getting super dull and really clouded in his eyes in a few days, then he will look more 'normal' again a few days after that. Once that happens he will shed out in a day or two

Re: I think Enzo is getting ready to shed :)

im going to second the humid hide;
and add that its not just for shedding! My snakes that have them use them intermittently throughout their shed cycles. Normally, when they are going to shed very soon, they will bunker up in there for a few days at a time. you can use any clean tupperware with a lid, cut a hole in the side, and put moistened paper towels or (what i use) damp pesticide and fertilizer free sphagnum moss (whihc you can find in the orchid section at lowes/home depot)

Thanks everyone! I will work on making a humid hide for him and I will start misting him a few times per day!
