Copulation!!! And regurgitation. :(

Well, I'll start with the good news.

Last night, after 3 months of brumation, my Sinaloan Milks were put together, and the male started doing the mating dance right away. As I write this, they are vigrously copulating. This is a proven pair, so I have very high hopes for this project.

In a rather unexpected move, on a whim, I put my Miami phase girl in with the new adult male Charcoal corn that I got from Mark IsBell.... wouldn't ya know it.... he starts agressively breeding her within 5 minutes!!! Neither of them have even been cooled. You gotta love corns and their ability to know the season even without brumation. So, I'll have normals het charcoal. Most will likely be holdbacks, but you never know.

So this is very exciting news for me!!! First ever breeding season, and some pretty good luck so far. Except of course, for my kings.

The male albino king had a huge meal out of brumation - BIG mistake on my part. Though he did digest most of it, I cam home last night to a regurge. I now sympathise with anyone who has been through this - there is nothing on EARTH that smells this foul!! It was utterly overpowering!

So before I put him in with my "Menedota-type" female, I want to make sure he has a meal that he can keep down. The female seems to be doing great, so I hope she'll be receptive. Because she's highly melanistic, the babies that look like her will be het blizzard. Again, probably a lot of holdbacks from that clutch. I'm sure the male will be ok too - he's a machine. I'll give him a week and see if he'll take and keep down a smaller meal.

I have a couple of potential other projects on the go, but nothing witnessed so far. More details on those projects if and when there is anything to report, but I don't want to jinx it for now.
