He's 7.5' or so. I bought him at a show back in '95 so he's slowed down a little growing- only a few inches a year vs the foot or more he'd put on a year when he was under 5 years. He's a real easy keeper, never a moment of trouble other than a stupid feeding accident 5 years ago. Once I switched him to rats- he calmed down somewhat. Great snake!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm still getting the hang of my digital camera. I'm slowly learning that the key is take a million pics and see what turns out... It helps to have a photogenic subject too

Snake Hunter- they are constrictors like corn snakes and are sometimes refered to as stripe tail rat snakes or stripe tail racers. There was a recent paper (I believe based on DNA studies) that changed the Latin name from Elaphe taeniura friesi to Orthriophis taeniurus which differentiates the different types of rat snakes previously lumped together because they looked and acted similarly.
