Incase you haven't heard...

USARK filed a lawsuit against the DOI challenging the constrictor rule. All the details can be found at usark.org. If things go our way the current snakes listed on the Lacey act(Burms, rocks, Indians, yellow anacondas) will no longer be regulated(ill be getting a dwarf burm), and there will be no more constrictors added to the Lacey act. Fingers crossed guys. This will be a huge moment for us as a comunity, whether you're a big snake person or not. Now is the time the anti-pet groups need to know we will not sit by as they take our rights away. I hope everyone is as impatient to see how this goes as I am.

We need to remember to be polite, professional, and courteous to the "other side"...we need to try to educate, but we also need to "take the higher road" when interacting with public officials and the media and reasonably articulate that their asinine conclusions to the crap science that was proffered regarding constrictors really chaps our collective asses.

Amen. I used to be a hot head and as good as it feels putting someone in their place, it is definitely not the way to win someone over.

The smaller locale retics are my favorite snakes. I'm not a big snake guy but love the big snakes(as strange as that seems), why I'm getting a dwarf burm if, sorry when, we win.

Jampeas and kayaudis are the true dwarf retics. jamps are great, as long as you dont mind an over the top feeding response. you hear horror storries of 15+ foot jamps but mine is almost 3 and just over 8 feet. Dan at dm exotics gets kaydus from a farm in Indonesia(fully treated for parasites and eating before sold).

Honey island are the same as madu, they are the imbetween size of the dwarves and the true "super dwarves". I haven't been able to find anyone in the states working with pure locale madus, or I'd have a pair.

Kalatoas are the original "super dwarves", Bob Clark himself told me this. They're known for a flighty disposition, but my pair are clam as can be. Travis kubes is not only the only reputable breeder I know of(reason my pair came from him), but the best person to go to for anything kalatoa in my opinion; his breeding stock is from the original Bob Clark SDs.

Re: Incase you haven't heard...

Hopefully I'll be getting this check in time to donate, and I've encouraged everyone on my FB to donate as well. This is pretty exciting; I hope everything works out because I want a retic as well and I'm sure I'm not alone on that!
