My badly burned Python. Need insight from other snake owners.
Hello everyone. I never join these things but I really need some advice. I own a ball python, who I have raised from a 6month old hatchling, hes about 23yrs old now. Unfortunately He has been severely burned, skin seared off the flesh burned!! Ive already taken him to emergency clinic and gotten medication, Im just looking for any tips to help him along. Should I be holding him with such a severe burn? Do I mist him? Just thought a community of reptile folk could help...thanks.

I would definitely replace his substrate with towels and or paper towels to prevent an infection of the burn site. Also, you should have a thermoregulator plugged into your snakes heat mat. That way the temps won't get too hot.
