Re: Speckled Kingsnake Advice

Thanks guys. MDT, they are definitely the US diamond python haha. Seriously gorgeous snake. I can't stop staring. And no, it is very unlikely to be an escapee... this is an Oklahoma native and I live...

Re: Speckled Kingsnake Advice

Plan to keep it only to allow it to get slightly larger. Otherwise I WOULD release it immediately. My parents are wanting a king around to keep their venomous snake population under control. It's...

Re: Interesting pet store finds yesterday

Touche. I took notes of all the species on my phone cause I knew I wouldn't remember but auto correct changed it on my note. I didn't realize it lol. It was a Solomon Island Ground boa. Edited it in...

Interesting pet store finds yesterday

Every now and then I need cat or dog food and like to venture into the local ma and pa store. They have a pretty decent sized reptile/amphibian collection for sale so I always do the rounds while I'm...

Re: New Black Racer Pics!!

Haha, he's quite the feisty little bugger. We see black racers around here occasionally. They are ridiculously fast and have no problem letting you know they don't want to be bothered lol.

Re: At the end of my rope....

I am SO sorry about all these crappy things happening all at one time. :( I would be devastated losing my cat like that as well. Like Zoo Nanny said, just keep posting uo fliers, post on CL, check...

Re: Cycling forum suggestions.

Sure do! One of my favorite things to do when I have time. My son and I go around the neighborhood a few times almost every day. We have some pretty extensive bike trails that are part of an upgrade...

Re: Cycling forum suggestions.

Yea, cycling isn't nearly as big here as it is in Europe from what I understand. Where I live in the US, cyclists are looked down upon as either too poor to own a vehicle or annoying because they are...

Re: A general survey

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes? Pretty much anything except the giants.

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know? I...

Re: any rodent lovers?

^^^ You have to be careful with that practice. Some states have laws in place requiring that wildlife be turned over to a true rehabilitation facility. I would check your local laws just to be safe....

Re: Feeding .

I put mine in a ziploc bag the morning before feeding and toss them on the bottom shelf of the fridge. Once it's feeding time that night, I let them warm up a tad in warm water. My short tail gobbles...

Re: Carpets in tubs?

Well, unless your Walmart still has Christmas stuff, then no. As far as I'm aware, that is the only time they carry them. Otherwise they have to be ordered.

Re: Carpets in tubs?

They are seriously awesome, heavy duty tubs. No extra security necessary. The lid has a long "lip" that fits over the tub so there is no gap whatsoever between the 2. And the plastic itself is so...

Re: Better tongs recommendation?

I also subscribe to the hemostat crowd. Those are 24" and ridiculously heavy. I used to use the same tongs as OP when my snakes were smaller. I also had issues with dropping rats with them. I...

Re: First time buying a snake?

My point being that as a FIRST time snake owner (just handled first snake EVER recently), the OP does not have the knowledge/experience to correctly ascertain a proper animal from the likes of CL....
