Holiday Trip to Florida

A few phone pics from this year's Christmas/New Year's with relatives in Florida:

A fairly large (9-10ft?) male (just guessing by his big old head) gator in Everglades National Park

Me somewhat close (but not too close and up the bank) to the big guy. He appeared to be asleep and it was early so he wasn't real warm yet.

Another gator. Smaller, maybe 5-6 feet, maybe female, much more alert (more warmed up). She(?) strode into the canal shortly after and went about her day.

This is from Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge a bit farther up north near the Broward/Palm Beach County Line. This little one was between 3-4 feet I would guess. Lots of birds here but most were in flight and I couldn't catch them with the phone cam.

Re: Holiday Trip to Florida

Does anyone know how to rotate these so they're not sideways in the post?

Can't help with the pic issue, but you're making miss home so badly. I'm originally from boynton beach. So no Burms?

Awesome! I live in Florida. I've only ever seen 4-5 foot gators though

No, no burms. I wasn't really equipped for digging around tree islands and such so no snakes this time. None out on the trail either. It was already past 10am and pretty bright that day. Back in frozen Brooklyn now!

Yeah most were 4 up to maybe 7 feet. Out of about 25, I'd say maybe 2 were 9-10 ft. Unfortunately the shot of a smallish female with some of her kids on her tail/back got totally washed out by the sun on the phone cam.
