Baby boas will spend a lot of time off the ground naturally to avoid predators, and they like to climb a lot. I wouldn't worry about the shedding, it'll happen soon.

he is cool at night becasue I turn off the heat bulb, thats usually where he hangs out. I guess I need to get a thermostat and better mat, any recommendations on brands for those??
