Re: snake custody battle?

Oh. My. God.

This thread never happened. Seriously? No way...

Although she's no maggot. She would have argued 15 times over something stupid before the thread got to page 2....

Re: Marines drinking cobra blood..

I was referring to the stupidity of the handling, not anything against the Marines. Maybe the local told them "This is a safe way to hold a cobra and not get bit"

Cobra blood seems to be a big...

Marines drinking cobra blood..

Wtf is going on here? Do you think they defanged or sewed this cobra? It looks like the dude should have been bit. And why the hell is he having them hold it by the tail and bounce it. Was he trying...

Re: best vivs for hots

People have rccomended a bead of silicon, weather stripping, anything like that. I just used a length of paper towel rolled up and stuffed tight. It is barely visible and can be removed.

Re: best vivs for hots

Just a warning Vision cages can have a small gap between the two sliding doors that may need to be addressed if you plan on having small hots in there. Also there is an annoying lip all the way...

Re: What does everyone think about rattlesnakes losing their rattles?

Have there been several rattlesnakes been discovered with no rattles? Not rattles that came off, but born completely without one? I wouldn't see why they would disappear. Them not rattling and...

Re: What does everyone think about rattlesnakes losing their rattles?

I don't know about completely losing their rattle, but i've heard about them not rattling as much mainly because of the wild boar that eat them. I don't know how long boar has been hunting them, I...

Re: Looking for Xenodon rabdocephalus

I don't know too much about them. I wanted to see if there was even a slight chance of finding a captive bred one before I start looking at housing requirements and such. Obviously from it's native...

Looking for Xenodon rabdocephalus

Anyone know where I might be able to locate one? Interested in possibly getting one, but I want to see if there's even a chance of locating one before I dig any deeper.

Re: pet octopuses?

Yeah I've kept tropical predators. I've seen a few cold water California coast tanks that blew them away.

Even still I'd need a double paned tank, and the electrical bill.... It's a couple thousand even used...

Re: pet octopuses?

Weird. The ocean is generally 55-58.

If they're like other marine animals then that could be a huge fatal difference. Then again people bring abalone home and they live. He'll I had one live in...

Re: pet octopuses?

If you read I said a giant pacific aka Enteroctopus dofleini

A search showed some info. Preferred temp under 60. But I wonder if it could tolerate 65.

We, as in the diving community, people here. Not you....

The point was does anyone know if it would die. Some things are more hardy and can tolerate temperature change. Some can't handle one...

Re: pet octopuses?

Because they are a game animal we frequently catch and kill for food anyway....

At 2:22 you can see my friend briefly fighting one before he bit it's eye and killed it.

Re: pet octopuses?

I'm curious about what they will tolerate. For some reason I imagine them being hardy. I have a 120 gal acrylic i've wanted to start a temperate marine tank with, but there's no way i'm buying a...

A lot of leathers are chemically tanned I'd be carefull. A lot of tanning chemicals are extremely acid and alkali. Don't know what it could do.

Re: pet octopuses?

Are they pretty strong in a tank, or sensitive to temps and water quality like most fish? If I were to snag a Giant pacific octopus next time I went to the ocean, would it most likely die in a tank...

Re: 37 killed from Marijuana - Day of legalization in Colorado

I was all pro legalization. Still am pretty much. A few views have changed. Last couple times (someone I know) tried it (they) got more paranoid than a couple of bad drops. To the point (they) felt...

Does it mean that though? Most GWS attacks happen with no prior warning of an attack coming. In the case of randy fry his dive buddy even specifically said he could have had an ak 47, a bazooka, it...
