Re: Wondering about a Dumeril's boa...

I think a dum is a good choice too. They are slow growers and are good snakes to keep. I personally love carpets, but babies can be kinda nippy so that could be a put off. If your brother is not...

Re: New Gargoyle geckos :)

Yeah paper towels aren't really nice to look at. But it prevents them from ingesting substrate when they are so small. If you really don't want to then the coco fibre is the next best thing.

Re: New Gargoyle geckos :)

I keep them on paper towel when they are babies and then change them to plantation soil/ coco fibre when they get a little older.

Re: Lizards for Kids

This is entirely not true. Cresties have no issues with eating crickets and MRP.

I say Hognose. In my experience Hognoses are the most active during the day.

Re: Gargoyle gecko's and Dubia roaches..

Crickets help them grow a little faster and are great if your gecko loves them! But he just may be a MRP gecko. I have some cresties that are like that. As long as he is healthy and eating the MRP...

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?

Zoo Nanny is correct, no matter what material you choose, quality is the most important thing. We have "original" hardwood in some of our house and that stuff is indestructible! I wish they made it...

I have a dog and a boyfriend and nieces and nephews....so many things have spilled or been brought up on this floor and nothing has ever stained or marked it like that (our floor is dark though). It...

I think you should go with Bamboo BarelyBreathing. I do recommend it and would not hesitate to use it again. Good luck :D

Re: Lizards for Kids

You may just have a garg who isn't interested in bugs. I have never had a garg like that but have had cresties that don't care for bugs.

Re: Lizards for Kids

Hey Barely I never really thought of feeding them fruit flies. I just usually wait a few weeks and then offer pinhead crickets.

Re: Lizards for Kids

Freshly hatched cresties don't gererally eat crickets either, takes a few weeks before they hunt crickets. But from my years experience with gargs they enjoy a cricket just as much as a crestie.

Re: Lizards for Kids

They are not less prone to eat insects. I believe they require a little more protein than cresties.

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?

I use Murphy's oil too much. It's not really good for the floors....but I love the smell of it. I think if there wasn't a build up of the Murphy's oil, they may be slidey. You shouldn't use the...

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?

Ok, in normal socks I can not slide across. In fluffy socks I can. I often slip on it when my yoga pants are too long....and it's danger. But I have used an oil cleaner on it and think I probably...

Re: Do you have bamboo floors?

I find the bamboo floor to be pretty durable. I have a smaller dog (25 lbs), however she is extremely high energy and there are marks in the floor from her but honestly are hard to notice. I guess...
