Re: Rat care/Breeding sheet

Rats born with out tails! Wild idea snakefood Gestation in rats is roughly 21 days and breeding can take up to a week. My colony is 1.7 ive never tryed the mass colony breeding senario so my experience is this. To achieve one litter weaning each week i put one female in the males cage and one more female each week. At roughly 20 days in with the male i pull the females and put them in a solitary nursing bin. Continue adding and subtracting a female from the male every week and you will produce one healthy litter weaning each week for ever and ever if you replace older females with grown outs. Once a momma weans you can give her a week break with other female growouts if you have 8 in your rotation. With 7 females she goes back in with the male. Its a nice rotation to keep your supply constant.
