Re: Oceanic carpet python limp/open mouth

Definitely needs a vet visit if it’s been multiple days. Jaw is likely broken and painful.

Re: Dumerils Boa Not Eating

Dumeril’s Boas are notoriously finicky eaters. What prey items are you offering? I spent 2 years battling with mine, and she would only accept food every 6 weeks or so, even as a baby.

I’ve...

Re: Arboreal (or mostly arboreal) snakes for novices

Gah, I’m late to the party. What About an Amazon tree boa? They come in all different colors, are super pretty to look at, and stay small!

I haven't updated this guy's thread in forever! Uploading picture here is alot of hassle for a lazy person like me ;) It seems my son has hit a heck of a growth spurt this summer! I couldn't tell for...

Re: Adopted Cornsnake burrowed and won't come out

No need to worry. She's just acclimating, especially if she is going to shed. Just behaving like a snake. I often don't see my Dumeril's for a week or two at a time because she's such a burrower!

Re: Timor python update!

Man, what a stellar pair! I loveeeeee the look of Timors and don't see them around too often. Do they really have as terrible a reputation for musking as I've heard? Has your male grown out of it at...

Re: High humidity for Dumerils Boas - Yes or no?

Most care sheets say 40-60% humidity is fine for a Dumeril's. However, another keeper recently suggested I raise it for my 2 year old Dum. I have noticed a dramatic difference in her behavior and...

Re: Question? Cage To big

Agreed with Zig. As long as your snake has plenty of cover to feel secure, a 30 gallon is fine. It’s a lot smaller than the wild ;)

Re: HELP!! (Corn Snake!)

Ok, I have never owned a corn snake, but I can help you with some basics until you get specific answers from some expert corn keepers ;) First, take a deep breath! Since he was being poorly kept...

Re: Carpet stop eating

Oh yes, I’m sorry. The feeding schedule you’ve been advised on is perfect. I meant don’t try to offer too soon if she refuses. Sorry for the confusion :) Feeding during the day is fine, just let her...

Re: Carpet stop eating

Based on this video, I strongly suggest not removing your snakes hide when you try to feed her. Was she in her hide when you tried to feed her? She just looks like she's nervous and doesn't have...

Re: Boa started shaking his head rapidly

I don't think it's from the product. Natural Chemistry uses no pyrethrin and is made to be used directly on the animal. I used it on my scrub when I first got him and it was perfectly fine. It...

I am interested to hear the opinions of some retic keepers here. I am not very versed in designer morphology...but something about this seems off. I would be inclined to say that passing an animal...

Re: Morelia Nauta

I think it's fair to say that hook training isn't working for us. And sometimes he gets bored of me and perches wherever he can find an edge.
