please excuse my ignorance,but.....
why do you both have a day to eat turkey each year ?
was it the day of the great turkey war and you won ?

I wish it was that cool.
No it's because of when someone first settled here. I know here in Canada it moreso represents a good harvest so we give thanks to that. Or our ancestors did.
In the States, it's based on the pilgrims making it to Plymouth rock. Where they then had a good harvest.
