New Boa Feeding questions

Hey all! So I just adopted a boa a couple of days ago who I believe was meant to be used as a breeder. He was born in march, and is already pushing 3 feet. I was doing a bunch of reading and from what I’ve gathered I think he was power feeding him. He told me to feed medium rats but from what I’ve read he shouldn’t be on anything nearly as large as that at only 3 months old. I guess my main questions are 1.) can I move him back down to smaller meals without and negative affects on him? 2.) Will he continue to grow incredibly fast once I cut back on rat size or will he end up being huge by a year old. I have a 25 gallon atm because I was expecting him to be much smaller at this age and am now looking for a larger enclosure. If I get a 36x18x18 will that last him about a year or should I just go straight to a 4x2? (I’ll likely get something larger).

OR Am I just totally wrong and medium rats are appropriately sized for him? I feed my ball python medium rats but she’s a lot thicker than he is, he’s got a lot of length but he isn’t super thick, I’d say maybe 1 1/2” thick

Thanks I’m advance for your input!

at 3 months old mine are barely onto medium mice never mind rats . my 4 yr old boas are on medium rat every 3-4wks
1-he shouldn't be on any food that is much thicker than the fattest part of his body, shouldn't be visible at all after a few days
2 this will slow him up a bit but thats a good thing. boas are much healthier slow grown, they should be a nice square(loaf of bread) shape
3- a 3ft tank should normally be fine for a few years , as long as there are plenty of hides a 4 ft viv will be fine too,
hope this helps
cheers Rich
