Re: Need advice about auto misters

Scale rot occurs not only in wet substrate but it has to be prolonged periods of time as well as dirty substrate. It doesn't usually happen from simply a wet substrate, although I bet it could but a...

Re: Will my python ever recover?

A disease perhaps. It's possible she could have cancer or something else affecting her health. Parasites could do it in the feeders. I'd get a fecal done

Re: UVB light kingsnake

I think it doesn't care about it. You could try removing it and see if it's too strong and that's why but again, I don't think it'll care. I'd check your temps again to ensure it's not too cool.

Re: Co-habitating baby garters

Or you can release wild animals and purchase captive ones.

I wouldn't co-hab snakes that are of a substantial size difference. Even if you're feeding them well enough, the big one just needs to...

Re: ball python help please

I agree with everything Chairman said but feeding live rat pup or two wouldn't be a bad thing to do if all parameters are met.

Re: My burm forgot how to eat

You can try a live food item and if she isn't losing any significant weight then she will eat in time.

Re: 2y old Burmese Python feeding schedule

If they are more medium size then no I wouldn't. No point in trying to push it faster now. Just feed appropriately and it'll be okay in time.

Re: Corn Snake tail rotting?

It's necrotic. It needs vet attention to ensure it isn't traveling up the snakes body and amputation may be needed.

There could be underlying health issues going on internally.

The...

Merge threads

Also no way to ID a snake moving that fast in that way. Could narrow it down but we have no idea the geographical area this was taken.

Our classifieds section is not hugely watched. I would be aiming for craigslist, maybe morphmarket. Or use social media.

Re: Classroom Snake Options

Fair point. I recommend the spotted python then. Again though, get an adult snake instead of a baby. You'll know better on how likely it is to bite. Balls are very reluctant to bite.

Also all...

Re: 2y old Burmese Python feeding schedule

Your snake is being underfed. A burmese python should reach over 5 feet in the first year.

If you're feeding appropriately sized rats then I would change it to weekly feedings instead of...

Re: Guinea pig babies as food?

You can. As mentioned, higher in fat and calcium. As far as I am aware, their skulls are thicker than other prey items so takes a bit longer to digest. That is anecdotal and I don't have proof.
