Re: Another IBD Post

I should upload my video of my woma python when she was stargazing while having some neurological issues. I have a boa that will perch, as you've described, and stare up into space, sometimes for 30...

Re: So it seems I'm now taking care of a snake

Re: So it seems I'm now taking care of a snake

I agree with the tap training method, either with a hook or with your hand/finger. I didn't see anywhere previous where it talks about frequency. You want to ensure that you're doing this...

Re: So it seems I'm now taking care of a snake

You can handle her. What gives you the impression she's not friendly? Does she hiss? Is she lunging or anything? Or does she just seem squimish when you put your hand in there?

Re: What in the h....

Honestly, who really cares if the people get hurt. What about the animals you ripped from their homes to do something so stupid, that ended up dying? I mean, wth?

Re: So it seems I'm now taking care of a snake

I concur.

You also need to clean their water dish out every so often to remove any grime and slime from it.

Re: Feeling sorry for my snakes :(

Either that or they're trying to figure out how to strangle me to get the bad vibrations to cease. I sing funny snake songs to them and I've been bit 3 times. I think there's something to that.

Re: Feeling sorry for my snakes :(

They lick more when I sing off key, so there's something going on.

Re: My collection

You have some beautiful snakes. I love the story of your corn snake; it's so sad, and so happy all at once. Please keep sharing the photos. They are absolutely amazing!

Poor babies. I usually talk to them, sing to them, when they're packed up. They'll be so happy when they meet their new homes!

Re: What happened to discussion/debate in the reptile community?

^^ all of this. Even irl, when I'm at a trade show, I get so much unsolicited advice when someone hears me ask a question about my xyz animal. Or when someone else is asking me a question about xyz...

Re: Sexing Baby Snakes

One of my rescues was sexed improperly and she has a kink on her tail as a result of this. It's not bad, but if it's close enough to the vent, it can create problems. If you can link up with an...

Re: What happened to discussion/debate in the reptile community?

Re: What happened to discussion/debate in the reptile community?

Agreed. I've had some 16 year olds tell me the what-for regarding snakes. I'm starting to work trade shows now, and I have a personality of a brown snake (shy and withdrawn, but will kill you when...

Re: What happened to discussion/debate in the reptile community?

I'm a newbie, and I also do medical research, so gathering data and evidence has been really fun. One thing I've noticed with even the older keepers is their unwillingness to change, even when new...
