I've heard many farts, only while they are currently excreting waste though.

Re: Radiant heat panels help

Two ventilation locations, back high and front low. That configuration will allow for proper circulation. Hot air rises and will escape the back vents drawing cool air in the front.

Re: Radiant heat panels help

The RHP will definitely heat the surface above it. My 80W panels can heat the cage floor above it to 90 degrees or more and that's through two layers of 3/8 expanded PVC. The panel itself gets quite...

Re: Stewjoe's picture thread!

It's been a long time since I have updated this thread. I've done a little bit of expanding and upgrading lately.

I moved my Diamond Pythons out into my Living Room where it stays cooler and...

Re: Rattlesnake killed by feeder squirrel

Squirrels are downright aggressive, it's not uncommon for them to attack other animals and when you trap it in a container with a threat it's going to defend itself.

Cornel's World Terrariums. The big ones are either 4X2X2 or 4X30"X18".

Re: Boredom chat!

Drove out to the site I was going to be GPSing and plotting our infrastructure. Laptop crashed so I drove back to the office.

Re: cage size for JCP

4X2X2 or 4X2.5X1.5 would be the minimum for an adult Carpet. 12X12X18 won't last long.

Re: Hypo Diamond Python

I don't believe its a mutation, just a colour phenotype that pops up from time to time, my Female has produced offspring like the ones above.

This is a Wild caught Diamond....

Re: RHP Probe Placement

I tape the probe to the wall of the cage half way down. Remember your hot spot may be anywhere from 5-10 degrees hotter than your setting so you have to closely monitor temps.

Re: radiant heat panel recommendations

I highly recommend a quality thermostat. With those temp swings the thermostat will compensate and keep the cage a steady temperature.

Re: Plastic caging benefits?

Pretty much everything is more expensive. It is thicker PVC than some of the cheaper American competition. Also he used all black hardware for a cleaner look. Being an hour away I do not have to pay...

Re: Plastic caging benefits?

They're made by Cornel's World Terrariums here in Alberta. They're top notch. I've got a pvc incubator and some racks too.

Re: Plastic caging benefits?

I'll never go back to glass.
Lighter, better humidity, easily stack-able, better heat retention, better security and way nicer than glass.

Re: How to correctly simulate night?

I give all my snakes a night drop whether I am breeding them or not, I think it is beneficial for a long healthy life. Snakes will live shorter lives when their bodies are pushed to the limit and...

Re: JCP not eating

Breeding season most likely. Mine goes off food mid December to around March and one of my Diamonds has been off food for over a month.

Re: Boaters come across MASSIVE anaconda in Brazil

That video is disgusting how they treat it. Not even close to the biggest. It looks big because it just ate.
I believe the boaters were charged for mistreating the animal +1 Brazil.
