Re: Who Is Your Most Cuddly Snake?

They are both wild caught so.... they like to hug you pretty tightly. ;)

My female green anaconda is pretty nice actually as long as you respect her. The male is bitey.

Re: rosy identification

I breed rosy boas so here's the best answer I can give you. Without info from the seller of what the locality is, it's impossible to give a 100% answer. These guys vary a lot from place to place...

Re: Rosy Boas Aggressive?

I know this was asked a while ago but since I breed Rosie's I'll give my two cents. Rosies have two basic temperaments:

Very pleasant, demure, slow and hardly ever bite. These guys make great...

Re: Recurring RI in Retics During Winter

Usually around 60%. I live in a dry climate where homes are usually 30-40% humidity. I have serious mold issues and the retics sneeze more if the humidity gets above 70% in the Serpentarium.

Recurring RI in Retics During Winter

Hi guys, long time no post. (Like years. Life has been... Chaotic...)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to combat this recurring RI that my two retics typically get during the...

Re: LLLreptiles?

I've only bought things in person from their retail stores when I lived in California, but their cages are clean and the animals look in good health. I bought an imported CBB Smooth Scaled Sand Boa...

Re: Off Topic Interests

When I'm well I like to hike, explore the world around me (pick a place on a map and go there kind of a thing), learn new languages, eat new foods, build things despite that I lack the technical...

Re: Baby Rosy Boa wont eat/maybe drink

+1

The more you have to get involved the less likely he'll eat on his own due to stress. It's a delicate balance as my vet says.

Oh and another irritating thing rosies do is constricting their...

Re: Baby Rosy Boa wont eat/maybe drink

Baby rosy boas are notorious for not feeding. The key thing is patience and not giving up. They will turn around eventually. I find leaving HARMLESS PINKY MICE overnight in their tubs is usually...

Re: Bugs in/on boa poop!??

Re: Been away for a while...Thoughts?

Damn. I have a similar problem in my state but there is a loophole. I can't touch rubber boas in the wild but I can keep captive bred ones from out of state (I've seen them sold in Nevada). And yes...

Re: Orbax (orbifloxacin) for Snakes?

Update: Results are in! No culture could be produced. The vet is now assuming it's viral. Both retics are off all medications and will begin probiotics once a week to help regulate digestive flora....

Re: Been away for a while...Thoughts?

For cohabitation I think rubber boas would be a good place to start researching as they naturally cohabitate. But it's very difficult to find information on them, especially current.

Rosy Boas...

Re: Reptiles for a 10 gal

Buy a male Rosy Boa from a breeder. They can live their whole lives in a 10 gal. Females need a 15 or 20 gal. Rosy Boas are very docile, chill snakes, and are easy to care for. Only occasionally...

Re: Woma python is corkscrewing

I'm sorry. I really do hope it's not IBD.

Could it be toxic exposure from the substrate?
