Re: Burms first regurge

What size is your burmese?

Wait 1-2 weeks before feeding again so she can rebuild her stomach acids/juices.

Btw, I thought you owned a male burm...?

Re: My rescued pair of albino burms

Randy, it sounds like the bites to your burm is more severe than simple superficial damage. The monitor likely punctured your burm's scales in several places an are likely scarred in those places...

Re: My rescued pair of albino burms

Hey Randy, I didn't do anything special other than provide an appropriate environment for him to recover. The damage on my burms' skin was most likely caused by mites and, I would assume, were...

Re: My rescued pair of albino burms

I was thinking about candycorn because of the orange, yellow, and white colouration - but knowing she'll grow up and lose the orange, I'm tending away from that. I will think of something soon. My...

Re: retic cage plans

Your retic is gonna outgrow a 4x2x2 in no time. Save yourself the $150 and invest in something larger or stick to tubs (try christmas tree tubs if you can find them in your area). You're going to...

Re: retic cage plans

Depending on the space you're putting the cage in, you might be able to heat the ambient temperature of the room to ~80F and use heat tape to create a hotspot of ~90F.

My rescued pair of albino burms

I rescued a pair of albino burms a couple months back. If you aren't familiar with my previous thread, this is what they both pretty much looked like when I got them:

Crusty eyes...

Re: retic with possible RI

Goodluck with him! Try boosting his temps for a bit when he gets back. I hear that helps with RI's

Re: Whats the deal?

Try filling your spray bottle with hot water. If you fill the bottle with room-temp water and spray your own hand, you'll notice that it feels much cooler by the time it hits your skin. Your retic...

And the eye caps are off!...

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my burms

The male entered pre-shed on the 20th and he just shed this morning. He is looking really fantastic! His eye caps shed and look normal now. His...

Re: retic mouth?

I don't see how my questions were low blows at all. I asked how he was going to feed/house his snakes and what his short-term/long-term plans are for the snake. Those are legitimate questions that...

Re: retic mouth?

I'm just concerned about the general health of his retic, how he plans on bringing it back to health, and how he plans on keeping it healthy. My questions are real life considerations that every...

Re: retic mouth?

I'm glad the swelling is going down. I would still encourage you to take it to the vet when you get a chance just to get a lookover. A checkup should be <$100 so try to talk your parents into it.

Re: Rescued a pair of albino burms - eye/skin infection?

Yesterday, I gave them rats that were skinnier than the burms at their widest point. I was planning on feeding them smaller meals at a more frequent 5-day cycle instead of a larger item every 7 days....

Re: Rescued a pair of albino burms - eye/skin infection?

I plan on taking them to a vet. However, I am currently working (contract) in a different city and have not been able to find a reputable exotic/reptile vet in the area yet. I will not be returning...

Re: retic mouth?

If your snake develops septicemia, it will die. If your snakes jaw rots off, it will die. Your retic clearly has a mouth infection. Hydrogen peroxide is effective against minor superficial damage but...
