Smile Snake shedding after hatching/birth

Hi everyone!

I would love to get some information on shedding days of baby snakes.
I am particularly interested in finding out how many days it takes for different snakes species to have their first shed after hatching / birth (postnatal ecdysis).
I would really appreciate any information on any and all snake species.

Thanks

Is there any snake breeder or handler that could help me out please?

Some species shed almost immediately after they hatch, for others it takes up to two weeks. Since your question lacks specificity, that is the best answer that you'll get.

Smile Re: Snake shedding after hatching/birth

Thanks Andy_G. I didn't realise that my question wasn't specific enough.

I am trying to get as much information as possible. Specifically:
Species name / common name.
Days to post natal ecdysis (first shed after hatching / birth).

E.g. Boa constrictors typically take 1 - 2 weeks.
While Hognoses shed within hours.

So any info on any snake species would be great.

Thank you.

I work with Stimson's pythons. They typically shed 10 days to two weeks after hatching.

Re: Snake shedding after hatching/birth

You'll find most species will shed 7-15 days after hatching and there are too many to list as well as too many variances involved to accurately do so. There are only a few species that will hatch almost as soon as they hatch, most notably the different hognose subspecies, but even then the odd baby can take a week.

I understand and I do not expect to get an entire list of all the species and days
There is also variation depending on temperature, humidity etc.

But if anyone can add a species or two on the list it would be fine.
