Re: What's the deal with scaleless snakes?

I am not aware of anyone breeding for eyeless snakes, and I am not even sure it is possible. From what I understand it is not thought to be genetic, at least in ball pythons, because it pops up...

Re: What's the deal with scaleless snakes?

It seems to me you are being a bit unfair in your condemnation of others breeding choices. Humans breed animals for the usefulness to the human itself with little consideration to the animals health...

Re: What's the deal with scaleless snakes?

Then you are entirely against any domesticated animal, including dogs or any food animal? Most if not all traits we have selected for would be a disadvantage to a wild animal. Also I believe it has...

Re: What's the deal with scaleless snakes?

I don't like the way scaleless snakes look, a bit too phallic for my taste. There are plenty of people who do and more power to them. I think we need to realize there is a very distinct difference...

Re: Written off morphs

Well I think the most commonly discussed is the jungle. Certainly "random" occurrence morphs like paradoxes and ringers may be less random but just misunderstood, especially as they are more common...

Written off morphs

I have been reading a few older books recently and have come across a few morphs that I no longer see in the market. I assume that they were proven "uninheritable" but after further consideration I...

Re: Snakes and cannabis (dagga)

I live in a place where it has been legalized, and know a few who grow for personal use. One in particular wishes that the local gopher snakes were more attracted to their outdoor plants to better...

Re: Has anyone else seen they're snake drink anything

I actually have a ball that will drink as I put him back in his enclosure and is still in my hands. It always hits me as something special.

Re: Freaky women

Asking me to stop and admitting you were wrong are hard to take seriously when you are at the same time flinging insults and telling me you know better. I think you make it quite clear maturity does...

Re: Freaky women

I hardly think the one not throwing the tantrum is a "weanie". Using facts and reason do not make me judgemental. Honestly if you were mature enough to admit you were wrong, this would have been an...

Re: Freaky women

To quote the Texas parks and wildlife "Examples of federally listed species in north Texas are the black-capped vireo, golden-cheeked warbler, and the Texas poppy mallow." Maybe you are not as aware...

Re: Freaky women

A passenger pigeon is not a song bird, and yes there are many reasons animals are becoming endangered. This by no uncertain terms means we should ignore an easily avoidable solution to one of these...

Re: Freaky women

I think the more relevant question is how did these become endangered? For many song bird species a large part of the answer is domestic cats, so as more irresponsible owners let their cats roam...

Re: Freaky women

Yes, I think you should keep your car indoors. It is hardly without reason as domesticated cats are a huge problem for native bird populations. There is no way you can say what a cat is killing...

Re: Freaky women

Great solution let your cat do more damage to the wild bird population. I don't know how anyone can have an issue with exotic keepers whilst there are ten times the irresponsible cat owners in the...

Re: Is it possible?

It is definitely possible, and could arise by more ways than by just genetic mutation. I would think an animal like this would not make it past the infant stage.

Danny, from both those quotes it sounds as if they are sharing opinions. Neither reference any work that shows their opinion holds validity. I will concede their opinion comes from a ton of...

Thank you both. I really enjoy trying to catch the animals as naturally as possible. Albert if you are going to upgrade your camera, I really suggest spending the money on a dslr with a couple good...

I found this prairie rattlesnake, Crotalus viridis, only 10 minutes drive from my home in urban Denver.

Re: Keeping snakes without a hotspot

That would suggest they are endothermic, which goes against everything I know about reptiles. I would like to see where you read about that.

Re: Keeping snakes without a hotspot

I think they were saying that reptiles keep their core temps at a certain temp, around 80 degrees if i remember correctly, not a range. Yes keeping an animal in ambient temperatures at this temp...
