It doesn't want to? Do you sit in one type of environment all the time when you don't need to?

Exactly. They know how to move if they want/need to. They have survived thousands of years without us intervening, so trust your snake's instincts. As long as you're providing proper husbandry your snake will be fine whichever part of the enclosure it frequents.

Snakes will move from the hot to cold side to regulate as they see fit. If digesting they are more likely to spend more time by a heat source to help them. If they never left the hot spot it would likely be an issue. a Boa that moves around from hot to cold is normal.

Oh. I had such a problem. And even was starting a topic at this forum.
I have solved a problem moving heat pad on branches. This was the only variant.
When my python was a baby she loves to be in a hide on the ground. When she had grown up she stays on branches 95% of the time.
