Re: Need help with underweight/underfed boa asap

Increase the size of her meal. Small rats immediately and then medium rats. What you are feeding her is too small of a meal. You need to do that in order for her to catch up

Re: Red-Tail Boa Housing

I guess this false name „red tail“ was invented in the US. It’s there where it’s mostly being used. The new boa owners just repeat it. There is no snake with the name red tail. The snake name is boa...

Re: High humidity for Dumerils Boas - Yes or no?

40-60% is totally ok, but not during the shedding process. During the shedding process the humidity should not drop below 68% and not to be raised over 75%. Around 70% is the best during the shedding...

Re: High humidity for Dumerils Boas - Yes or no?

The best humidity level according to my experience with my Dumeril is between 50%-65% and during the shedding process 70% to a maximum level of 75%.

Re: High humidity for Dumerils Boas - Yes or no?

I own a Dumerils Boa. 75% humidity is too high. The humidity should never reach 85%. If you raise it like that, the most likely outcome would be a respiratory infection. The best humidity level for...

Re: How often to feed my male GTP

It seems it was a period where he needed extra food and I gave it to him. Now the last time he ate was two weeks ago. He certainly does not need too much food. I’m adjusting now his feeding schedule...

Re: Waiting for a shed

If her eyes got cloudy that means she is definitely going to shed. When boas get older the shed process takes a bit longer. My 2 years old male BCI sheds about 4 to 6 days after his eyes clear out. I...

Re: Adopted Suriname boa very small?

He looks beautiful but small for his age. If he was my boa, i would move him immediately to small rats for a month and then to medium rats and after that large rats.

It seems that he was constipated. Make sure you provide him always with fresh water to drink. And eating the prey backwards is not good at all because it will be difficult for him in the future to...

Re: How often to feed my male GTP

I don,t agree with the statement that says snakes don,t have a limit on food and they will eat whenever food is offered. I used to hear this about boas, but my boa rejected food several times when he...
