Re: Box Turtle Rescue

I think you're thinking UVB, not heat lamp. Of course, heat is important, but it doesn't do much for calcium (except keep their digestive systems working). UVB doesn't provide calcium either though;...

Re: Questions/Thoughts on heating

I'd suggest getting rid of the colored light and investing in a CHE. Nocturnal (technical crepuscular) geckos have night color vision that is 350x better than ours; what little light you're seeing is...

Re: Spot on King

Being a D/DD and her are the two girliest things about me. That's about it. :)

It did seem to appear right after her shed, which was just a few days ago. So it should just fade on its own?

Spot on King

So I bought a kingsnake last month, and she's been doing well. Active, eating like a pig, had a perfect shed, no signs of ill health. Three days ago I noticed a spot on her (right after feeding,...

Re: New Tremper Albino Leo

Nah. I just had to ask Jarich a question about my kingsnake's enclosure and happened to see a leo thread. I'm not staying. :p

Re: New Tremper Albino Leo

I'm not much of a Tremper fan, but that's a stunning gecko. I thought regular Tremper albinos were more brown though? But I'm still a n00b at morphs.

Okay, thanks. So now I guess it's time for me to really go. And you'll have to just deal with it. ;)

Re: Cali King Enclosure

I'm broke right now. XD Does this hold burrows? My aspen bedding looks like one of those ant displays, and I want to make sure she can do that if I put in other stuff. Oh, and how much charcoal?

Re: Cali King Enclosure

Thank you. :) I just had a bunch of surprise vet bills (and still going), so I'm short on money right now. I might have to wait just a bit to do this. I have the coco fiber and soil, but I don't have...

Re: why so much arguing?

Holy ****. I look just like that. =oYou're operating under the assumption that all questions asked are in the snake's best interest and the person is only looking to do what's best for the snake -...

Re: Burm/ball hybrid

...What? I stated very clearly I wasn't defending it because I don't have an opinion. The person stated that we should never mess with mother nature, and the fact is, we all do in one way or another....

That's really cool. Oh, those are those jeweled lacertas I was admiring before, right? I'm still so jealous of you having those. If only I wasn't a poor college student. D= Did they produce any eggs...

Re: shedding concerns

I understand that. I personally can't tell from the pic what's black that shouldn't be, and I just don't think it's a good idea to tell someone their snake is going to be eaten alive by dead skin...

Re: shedding concerns

I'm not saying whether it is or not (though you seem to be switching back and forth between "worst case scenario" and "has in fact been apart of this situation"). But you claimed lady_bug said that...

Can you maybe get a better pic of the tail? Does it look like there are any scales that are black that shouldn't be?

Re: shedding concerns

You must have better eyesight than I do. The pic looks too blurry to me to be able to tell what scales should be yellow and are black instead.

Re: need a little help here

Do you have a source for this whole statement? I fail to believe that these snakes stay in one spot for 3-4 weeks in the wild. They very well might be ambush predators (though there is proof that...
