View Full Version : carpet enclosure pics
Hey carpet python community. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I was hoping some of you guys could post pics of your enclosures. I am trying to collect a few more ideas before starting my big build, and would really appreciate the input.

Here is a pic of my habitat it is a 55 gal long tank there is more tank to the right with a hide and water bowl
This is my enclosure for my new carpet. She's kind of lost in there (tank is 100x50x50cm and she's only 60cm long atm) but she uses the whole tank. I changed some things around last week (exchanged newspaper for normal bedding and added a better hide on both the cold and warm sides) but just to give you an idea what I've provided for her this will do. And as I had this picture that turned out really well yesterday I'll add a non-enclosure pic to your thread as well :).

And Mimara herself

Thanks guys, @MH4C what locale is she? You should post more pics of her.
I have noticed many keepers using pvs pips for perches. Is there a reason you prefer this over wood? It does not seem like it would present a good grip for the snake.
Here is my current one btw.

I will be making a big custom for her soon, big enough for her, and a boyfriend.
Thanks guys, @MH4C what locale is she? You should post more pics of her.
I'm not really sure on the locale. She was sold to me as a offspring from a mating between a Morelia spilota ssp and harrisoni (Papuan IJ?), With the dame being the ssp and the male a beautiful pure harrisoni. Dame could very well be something pure, but the guy who I got her from wasn't into genetic background of animals at the time he bought her.
Here's one pic of her dorsal patterning and color atm, maybe you can tell something from it. As the weather has been quite bad around here until now (finally sun and 23-26 degrees celsius) I don't have any nice outside pics yet...hoping to change that this weekend though if the weather holds up :)

Here are some pics I scoured off the web that I'm using in building my bigger habitat. I picked up a cabinet at a yard sale similar to the first pic. I have to replace solid doors with glass or acrylic and refinish all the wood. I havn't decided on a background yet. I like the rock wall, so I'm leaning in that direction.
