I live in the US so I can't help you there. I will tell you that your best bet is to become active on local forums; if you have a local herpetology club then join it. Most keepers will only mentor people they already know; it is important for the trust as mentoring is a risk for them. You could be hurt or killed by their animals and they need to trust that you won't sue them. So just try to get to know other snake-keepers in your area and frequent forums where locals also do.
I wish you the best of luck. Finding a mentor is going about things the proper and best way!

Dont know if you could get to bristol regularly but i know of a guy who does training for reptile keepers including hots training if he feels you are suitable.

Actually it's not sad, it's responsible
We don't know you from a hole I'm the ground so we aren't ready to take risks and the responsibility of someone that may be crazy. Unfortunately you are an unknown quantity and people don't want the risk.
Like Kim said get involved and you may have better luck.

Try a zoo or some other Corporate level snake business, most personal snake handlers may not want to take the risk. I know I will not mentor someone with HOTs, as Kimberly has said, I'm not risking getting sued by the trainee if they get bit or by their family if they get bit and die.
