Well yesterday i had an old engament ring i finally got rid of and after putting most in the bank and towards a cc it left me with 300 to play with. Well my old point and shoot was from 2005 so i figured it was time to get a new one. I originaly wanted a DSLR but didnt want to spend the money.

So i got a cannon ELPH 110. so far i like it. It has way more options that i wanted on it, including a low light, slow motion, and it takes contiunious pictures if you hold the shutter button down. Its orignally 240 but was on sale for 140. Yeah i picked it up o well.

Enough with talking about the camera here are some pictures in a few of the modes it has.

this is just plain old maco. a little washed out from the flash

If you're going to spend around $300 then the Nikon Coolpix models are the way to go IMO. You simply cannot get a better camera in that price range. I snapped these with a nikon coolpix s6000 and you can find them for under $100 these days. Even better models available for the $300 price. They shoot absolutely stunning HD video too.

EDIT: Nevermind. apparently I'm not allowed to post pics/urls yet. Wayne hasn't reviewed my registration yet.

OK here we go. Again, this is a Nikon Coolpix s6000. Not expensive at all. In fact you can get that model for around $100 now. The HD video and macro capabilities of this camera is outstanding. I get results that look like I used an expensive camera and it's super easy to use. They also make models that have way better zoom capabilities but those models seem to lack the good macro capabilities so you pretty much have to choose which more important to you. High optical zoom, or macro but heck, there just isn't another camera for $100 that can take photos this great and it's powered by an internal lithium battery that recharges quickly when plugged into USB on your computer or wall charger and lasts a very long time.
