I just recently picked up a central american hypo boa. My question is when I got it out of the aquarium yesterday it didn't move around my didn't flick its tongue and kibd of keep his neck in a S. I've been told thar the S is kind of a natural thing for boas and not always a sign or neevous and a posible bite. My aquarium is about 82 degrees. At the breeders store the snake was more active and flicked his tongue a lot more can anyone give me some advice and what maybe happening good or bad? Thanks.

If you aren't cooling him to breed I would up the temp about 6-8°f. That is not normal for boas. When I pull all of mine out they stretch to start climbing. Boas are an active snake. That s probably meant it was nervous. That is the striking position just so you know.
Also mine don't always smell a lot when they come out.

Ok I was kinda thinking a combo of nervous and a little cool.

how long ago did you get it? has it ate for you yet? i would get the temps up to around 90 on the hot side and do not handle it untill it eats twice and poops once. i had to go through this with my dumerils and i still rarely hold her untill i like the way she eats.
