Hi, we have a male albino burmese and wonder if the reticulated pythons that everyone's talking about are just a different pattern of burmese, or if they're a completely different snake? I know I've heard about them having different temperaments so have always thought they were a different species (or whatever) from burms.

Also, just to verify, the feeding schedule for our burm should be an appropriately-sized food item (medium rat right now, for instance) per week while he's growing, then once grown, it slows down to once every two weeks or so?

Thanks!

the reticulated python is a completelly different species altogether, and is the longest snake species to boot!!!:D

I always thought the anaconda was the longest.

actually the anaconda is the heaviest they only reach about 20' where the retic can reach as much as 33' in length but not as heavy as the anaconda:D

To answer your feeding question I would say a medium rat is good sized meal but make sure his meal increases as he grows.
