So after feeding rocky sunday morning i decided to check on her today and spot clean under her hide. When i picked her out of her tank i noticed her belly was really really pink. Never saw this before but read on here that means shes going to start going into shed right?

While i had her out i noticed something on the bottom of her head. This is the best picture i got of it. She seems healthy and very active when i have her out of her tank. i take her out maybe 3-6 times a week for about 10 minutes.

Her hot spot temp is 85-88
warm side is around 82-84
Ambient temp is 82
Cool side is 72-74
Humidity is 50-60% (noticed with repti bark and a heat lamp misting wasnt enough so i have to wet down the substrate once a day and it holds 50-60%)

This is going to be her first shed with me. I also have been keeping a wet paper towel under her hide to bump up the humidity in the hide a little. Her hide that she likes is a rock hide which is half under the day lamp and half not, the night lamp hits about 3/4 of it. I measure the temps with an infared heat gun and have a humidity and thermomitor gauge on the tank.

Can you describe what it is. Looks like dirt.

It looks like dirt but hard to tell from such a blurry picture. Snakes that have white bellies will appear very pink when they are going to shed. That much is normal; the blood flow increases right under the skin to help the snake secrete oils to loosen the old skin, so it turns a pinkish hue.

to me it looks like scales are missing but i know they are not. the small black spot may be dirt bc she is on eco earth and repti bark. but i was talking about the shaddow looking spot on half of her bottomside head

I have always wondered why they turned pink. :)

The scales deep in the folds of the chin are smaller, and in the cleft there are no scales. This is to allow the snake's jaw to spread when they are eating. I'm not sure if that is the area you meant, as the picture is very blurry. Can you perhaps take a clearer picture?

i have tried taking a better picture. she is being a pain in the but to try and let me get a picture of her underside. that is possibly the spot i am talking about. i may have just over looked it before. it is in the center of her bottom.

She seems all good so im not worried about it. She is eating and starting to fog up for a shed.
