Those that have had dumeril babys did you keep track of their weight? When i got rocky she looked a little thin to me. I know boas look thin when they are growing but fill out when they get older. I have had her since nov 8th. she ate for me on the day before thanksgiving and that was a small/med mouse. she ate for me again yesterday and it was a 17gram mouse. i weighed her about 2 weeks ago and she was at 130g. she pooped yesterday morning and i figured i would offer her food and see what she does. she took it no problem. I pulled her out today and she was very active in my hands and my arm. I was letting her roam around and she was all streched out so i got a good measure and she is 22" on the nose and now 160grams! she looks good and everything. I have one more small/med mouse that is 20 grams i will give her next tuesday/monday which would be 6/7 days. i would like to give it to her sunday and keep her feedings on sundays. The next mice i got were adults and are in the 40g area. I plan on giving one a week with these and picked up a weened rat to keep with them.

I guess what im asking is, is that a good weight for her length or should she be around 180ish?

OK I was neurotic. The breeder said Eve was 21" and 150g at the time I purchased her. Although he said he had just measured her, I think this was her birth sizes, because she was born December 2011. When she arrived in early March she was 30" long. I fed her large mice every 4 days until I could switch her to small rats. I now feed medium rats 3 times per month.
I fed her 7 large mice in March. on 3/30/12 I weighed her for the first time. She was 465grams, and 32" long. After that I started weighing her food.
April 2-22 I fed her 43g, 41g, 48g, and 31g mice. I weighed her after the 48g mouse. She was 538 grams. April 26 I fed her her first rat 100grams two days later she was 622 grams.
May I went back to mice, because I couldn't find small enough rats. Five mice 51g, 38g, 46g, 58g, & 50g. After that she was 688 grams.
June 2 rats 122g and 125 grams she was 877g and 37" on 6/20/12
July three more rats 160g and 133g on 7/23/12 she was 1053 grams and 40" After that measurement I stopped weighing the rats. She had one more rat at the end of July.
August she ate one rat in the begining of August then I stopped recording when I fed her. 8/31/12 she was 1345g and 43"
On 11/22/12 she was 48" and 1688 grams.

Every 4 days is too much. I couldn't get the right size, so I fed her more undersized meals. Once a week is a good plan.

with the smalls i there is no lump what so ever. i fed her yesterday and took her out today and there is no evidence of a mouse at all.

it still takes time to digest a mouse regardless of if it leaves a big lump or not. also, i don't hold my snakes for 2-4 days after they eat so they can settle in and relax and not be manhandled, but that's just me ;)

I usually also give her 2 days after she eats. Although Eve looks bloated after eating the lump was only obvious the first few times she ate a rat.
