My boa had mites so I have let her soak in the bath full of fairy liquid for two hrs tonight and then after drying her off I used mites off. It seems to have worked but in the wooden viv I bleached it then steamed it with my steamer and lastly I used my blow torch on it carefully in all corners is there anything else I can do if tomorrow I find it not worked?

Lol. Sounds like you did a lot. Should be good enough. All I can say is use paper towel or white paper substrate just in case for a while. So you see any mites easier

WOW You used chemical warfare, burned them with steam and fire and tried drowning them. I can't see how anything would survive that. But if they did, next time try Provent- A-Mite spray. It works for me every time I have used it.

its much easier and less stressful on the snake,to use provent a mite mate
use once mites dead its that easy
leaving some species of snakes,in water for long periods of time can cause water blisters
from what i've read mite off does not work...
but hopfully all your other efforts will have paid off..
that said mite eggs are very small and get transfered really easy

We'll see in a few weeks if any of the eggs survived.

I'm surprised you didn't break out the mustard gas.
I'd say you used everything except the kitchen sink, but with the Fairy Dust, I guess you did.
Now that you've used all the wrong stuff, follow the advice of the members here and use the right stuff. Nix or PAM.

i cannot comment on other treatments,as i only use PROVENT A MITE....
Rob,lankyrob on here said he got some from e bay...
i got a few tins for emergencys and quarantine tanks from a shop, but they no longer stock it,so thats not much use to you mate (sorry)
a can is around £28 but it last for a long time and can do a lot of tanks
cheers shaun
I used callingtons recently and it worked for me. I did a full strip down and clean and then put snakes back in with just kitchen towel as substrate and their hides and then sprayed (you need to leave water out for 24hrs). You have to spray again in a week as it doesn't kill eggs but after the second treatment I no longer have mites.

Go to the pest control isle and grab a no pest strip. All you gotta do is break the package open and cut the strip into 4 smaller pieces cuz you don't need the entire thing. The strip is like a miracle worker whenever mine get mites. Completely safe for the snake also and one strip will last 3 months.

IF you do this, you will see neuro issues within a week and the animal will be dead in two. Seen it happen firsthand on three different occasions when using this product.
DO NOT follow the above advice.
Sometimes I wonder how this shyt can get passed off as advice.
If you don't know, shut your damn mouth and learn.
You're doing more harm than good.

How's the war on mites going Phil?
I hate most run of the mill pet shop remedies. They're not a permanent solution, they're hella expensive for what they are, and they're kinda bad for your snake. If you don't have access to Nix (you sure man cuz kids get lice all the time?) or PAM do you have access to a feed store like Tractor Supply Outlet?

I killed a perfectly good Green Patternless Burmese using no pest stripes. Just please don't use these for your snakes safety.

Well I defiantly won't be using the pest strip lol I have sprayed the callington and was amazed as I had already bleached the viv and bathed the snake in soap, there was hundreds of dead mites of all sizes all over the bottom of the viv. Hopefully it works. Will apply the second treatment in 7 days. I have seen nix in some stores but there is no prevent a mite spray on eBay at the moment.

Oh wow!! This is not "advice" at all. DO NOT EVER DO THIS!!
Mykee said it best. I actually think this should be removed so any newbie snake owners don't do this having not read the comments after. There are just so many bad stories about this. Well I am shocked to say the least.

If you can get nix use this guide. It's spot on and will work if followed.
