this lizard is an agama of some sort. but no idea which specific one! hes small abooouuut 4" svl. Brown kind of a speckledy pattern i think..white belly. likes to climb. VERY fast. ive searched around and all i get are foreign pages in russian, spanish, chinese which give info on absolutely ANYTHING but lizards! :D im thinking of adopting him! and was wondering if any of you can tell me what it is!
Thanx in advance! (that is if anyone replies!)

Could it be a collared lizard? That's the first one I thought of - they are fast as lightning, love to climb and some are brown and speckled. They have a tell-tale blackish band around the neck, hence the name collared. They do get much bigger than 4", but maybe the one you saw is still very young.

Check this picture

Even if not identical, there are other species of collared lizards, somewhat similar with slight variations of colour and pattern.

If you want, post a pic and someone can confirm.
Northern Fence Lizards are common, that may be the one!

HAHA! Bert sounds cute! you should definatly consider adopting him! he's the cutest little guy ever! good luck in finding him a home if you don't...like i said, i would take him, but i don't think my togo would like company and i don't think my dog would appreciate another "sibling" taking up "mom's" time! LOL!

Norman, you are more than likely right about that lizard its a female jeweled curlytail.. or a female emerald swift.. but its deffinatly a female.. :)

That looks to me like it is a member of the cordylus family. I just had to jump through a bunch of hoops to identify one in that family.... let's see if I can find that nifty ID website.................

That's a way scientific website, might be a bit of a pain in the *** without a good field guide.

I'm pretty sure it's not a cordylus species, but fence lizard seems right on the button. Here's a pic of an armadillo lizard(cordylus)http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/1812cordylus.jpg

You're right, the tail scales are all off. I neglected to look there, the face is reminiscent of cordylus.

if you notice on this site, he does actually look like that group of fence lizards, but on other sites he looks completely different! thats where the above photo was (probably) found.

I don't know what it is but I don't believe it a Cordylus!

This is a pic of my Cordylus tropidosternum

Definitely Sceloporous, occidentalis or undulatus? Western Fence vs. Northern Fence - but it still doesn't appear to be a dead on match.
