View Full Version : Missing snake
How do you lose a six-foot boa?!
In any case, we've lost Psych somewhere in the apartment and need help luring him out so we can find him - the apartment is full of boxes and stuff from moving in. It's not tiny but we're out of ideas of where to look. Do you guys have any snake-luring secrets that might help us out? Thanks a ton!

unpack everything.
even a big boa is a master at hiding.

try leaving a rat or something on the ground and wait for him to come eat it
Hey everyone this is msavary76 the owner of the 6ft boa. Anywho we found him. We placed his water dish on the floor cause he loves to soak in it and out he came. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Hey everyone ive been noticing that my snake psych ever since he got out he has been checking out the slider that covers his cage. Like he thinks he's going to get out again. LMAO

Glad you found him! One of my baby rosy boas escaped last week. I caught him the first time, thought I fixed his cage, but was wrong, and he escaped a second time. That second time he was harder to find. Imagine... a tiny rosy boa that's only a couple weeks old lost somewhere in a 1400 sq ft house! I was worried a dog or cat would find him first. He was missing about two days (Saturday night/Sunday morning to Monday afternoon), and then came out. Since then I've got his home fixed so he doesn't escape again. (Ended up getting a new top.)

Had the same issue with my young ball python . Took 2 escapes to learn how she was getting out . First time she was out 4 days. The second time just 4 days after finding her she got out again and was gone 9 days . She has been secured and no more escapes . She even appears to have given up trying . Best advice , when you think they are secure , add more security lol .glad he turned up .

Hey while your 6ft snake was lost in the apartment, how did you sleep at night?

Other than being worried about the snakes well being, why should sleeping be an issue?

Agreed. I've had trouble staying awake with a 6ft BCI resting on me. :D (Not that sleeping with a snake is a good idea, but I would still be more concerned about the snake's safety.) I remember a case where a 5ft dumeril got lost in a Boston light rail car. (No, I have no idea how you lose that snake in the first place.) But nobody believed the owner and the snake rode the train for a month without any of the passengers noticing.

My baby rosy boas did that too! Kept checking out the lid looking for another escape. They finally seem to have stopped trying a day or two ago.

I had one of my boas go missing for 2 weeks searched the house high and low everyday. Went to bed like 2am and woke up around 5am and found her inside the tank on the heating pad! Guess she was ready to come home.
