So I was just messing around on the timeless Interwebs and stumbled upon this beautiful creature. Calliophis bivirgatus or commonly called the Blue Malaysian (Malayan, I saw both names) anyways, I figured I'd show off some pictures I found in my search and see what you guys know about 'em (God knows I know very little). Enjoy!

Al cortiz had those. Theyre tough to work with, and they're a "no mistake" snake, because you'll die if you get bit. Pretty sure there's no antivenom for them...

It seems that the prettier they are, the more likely they'll kill you with one bite, which I love, by the way haha. I'm a big fan of most, if not all, venomous reptiles. With that said, I'm not good enough, knowledgeable enough, or trained enough to ever be crazy enough to try to keep a venomous snake.

I have heard those are hard to care for and as Al said their bite is fatal he mentioned presynaptic neurotoxins. Venomous snake keeping is only as dangerous as you make it this snake would be well over my head experience wise which is why I don't want one right now. They look kind of like a red headed krait to me :) I love kraits :)

Kraits are quite stunning. This snake is too. I also agree that keeping venomous snakes is quite harmless if you don't put yourself or the snake in a harmful position. With that said, I still wouldn't trust myself. Not that I'm afraid of being bitten or something, I'm more afraid I'd harm the snake.

Well ive found have minimal contact with the snake works avoid having to hook it as much as you can. I use shields and they tend to stay in their hides but not all snakes are that forgiving. Would the shield tactic work with a bothrops spp. I don't know that would be a pretty big risk considering they can be pogo sticks with venom and shoot all over the place and want to bite you all the time. Minimal contact is best Gaboon vipers look sluggish but that is why you can't trust them being complacent can get you killed or maimed.

These are some of the most beautiful snakes around but as mentioned above the prettier they are the more deadly they can be. Wish I could keep things like that but hots are not in my future.

I heard there was a case where a snake of species bite a guy and he died 5 minutes later.

Preety hard to care for, and not very common in the trade. Though it would be nice to have one!
