I just realized I never had a Popeye profile up so here it is...

This is Popeye, my 10 year old Dumeril's Boa. He is 12 lbs. and abt 5 1/2' long and as calm as Dums get.
He was part of the breeding trio we got 2 years ago along with Lulu (R.I.P) and Black Betty. I love Dums and he is a prime example of why I love them so much. He is very typical of what a normal Dum is supposed to be, both in terms of his size as well as in his temperament. I have said this before and it bears repeating...

Anything from Madagascar is worth keeping.

I have 7 of them and each one is so different from the rest. They are tempting and have been for me. Thats why many times when I went to reptile shows, I would snatch up the few they they had available ;)

I will be posting more pics of him here as I take them.

I just took Popeye outside for a photo shoot and he was very cooperative. So as of 9/16/12 4:20pm CST, this is what he looks like.

He's awesome c: I really want a Dumeril, they are so gorgeous and don't get huge from what I have read

Yeah I would recommend a Dum to anyone. They eat well, never have humidity issues, are very mellow in their temperament, are hardy and very easy to take care of. The patterns are so unique compared to most other Boas and almost always stay in the medium size range. All of these are reasons Dums are my favorite species.
