Currently I have the 1 Kenyan sand boa male. I haven't probed him but at 2 years of age he's still only around 12 inches which is suggesting male to me.

Anyhow, I'm seriously considering getting a pair of rough scale sand boas in the next few weeks, but I've never kept more than one at a time. Can this species be kept communally? I've read that you can keep a male and female, or two females together, but wouldn't this increase the risk of the female becoming gravid before she is a healthy breeding wait?

I have a little experience with sand boas, but I haven't really considered this before, so I thought asking more experienced people could only be a good thing.

Many thanks

Sam

It is not recommended that you keep any breed of snake together. They're solitary animals. Unless you want to breed them and both the male and female are up to breeding size then you can keep them together, but only for a period of time.
