Sorry the pictures are not the best, I did not want to stress her. I will get some good ones once she is in her enclosure and established. Thank you for your help everyone. You guys were quick to giving me good answers to my thousands of questions in the last few weeks.

Awww! What a pretty girl! Enjoy your new pet. Remember they can be a bit nippy as hatchlings, but can grow in to a very handleable pet that's rewarding and enjoyable. :)

Thats a great looking jag. She looks great at that size so she's going to be a knock out as an adult.
Thanks guys! Yea she is only 4 months old. She was the brightest of a good clutch. I hope she turns out like her dad, he is raincoat yellow. How long should i wait before giving her a big adult enclosure?
Congratulations, a lovely looking carpet

Sigh, I am so caught between a carpet and a B.c. Amarali as my next snake. You're not making it easier :) Love her!

Get the carpet. I had my adult male Jcp out today lurking about our new reptile room for the first time. He went everywhere anf crawled over everything within 20 minutes. So active and curious but not to busy to be enjoyable =perfect!
This is a sweet looking little jag wish my babies were that handlable. Soon I guess.
Nice pickup!!

My adult female. She is about 7.5ft and full grown. Snakes grow until death but at this point a couple more inches maybe.

My adult male. He is under 6ft and same as the female he shouldn't grow much more at all if any.

As you can see both are easy to handle and all of our friends kids love these guys. I suggest a carpet to everyone. Truly one of the best pet snakes to buy. But they are nippy as babies eventually growing out of it with a bit of age and just getting used to handling.
the more I see JCPs, the more I want one...someday I'll convince the boyfriend...Need a reptile room. plain and simple

Gorgeous little IJJ! I am incredibly jealous.
Teranaut- awesome carpets!! You should put pics up of your hatchlings sometime.
update: I offered her a F/T rat pinky today and she took it! I am excited that this will not be a problem. Before she ate it, she slowly pushed it hard with a closed mouth three times. What is up with that?

There are a couple in this thread. I will profile them after I can handle them.

They are gorgeous! I've only had my pinstripe Royal so far, but I'm ready to take on a bit more of a challenge. If I go for a carpet, it would definitely be a male IJ or JCP. I'm planning to visit a local breeder in the next couple months and handle some of his boas and carpets to see what I'm comfortable with. Thanks for the info! :)

I have both carpets and boas. Boas can be moody and tempermental. I guess carpets can be too buy mine are very predictable and climb all over us. My boas want to look around but generaly stay in a smaller area when out of the enclosure. Boas are stronger and heavier bodied so you truly feel a boa hanging on to you where a carpet is more agile and not so clingy. When you handle them remember this and see if you feel the same way.
