View Full Version : Brazilian rainbow boa questions
Are brazilian rainbows harder to care for than royals?
I know I could look this up on google, but thought I'd ask you nice folks instead :)
Does anyone here own a brazilian rainbow boa? How are they? How big do they grow?
I'm not planning on getting one, I'm just curious... they are very beautiful.

They need higher humidity than royals. Their easy if you can keep their temps an humidity right. Some are a lil hurry when young but mine calmed down and was like a dog. Very secretive tho so you don't see them out much. I believe they get 5-7 ft long.

No they stop at around 5 and a half. They need much higher humidity than balls and they need a more arboreal cage. Also they are very flighty when young. I would recommend the ball python limey. =]
So you would say that a full grown ball python and rainbow boa are typically the same length? Would you say the boa is more slender?

The boa is more slender but can get slightly longer than the ball.[most balls don't get over 4 and a half]
Thanks again snakeman! You da' man!

My female is 5ft6 at the mo and still growing I'd say... Her mum was 6ft6 so they don't stop at 5.5 ft.... Yes they're secretive so you'll only really see them late at night. I've bolted in 2 climbing logs/branches for mine, and she does use them... Rarely tho. Stunning snakes to own and easy to care for :)
