Hey all, I have a Jungle Carpet Python (he's almost 2 years old), and I'm planning to move him into a PVC enclosure that's 2' x 2' x 3' [LxWxH]. I was curious on what kind of wattage to consider for a radiant heat panel and/or flexwatt? I'm considering adding a UVB or fluorescent bulb in there too to help with lighting, would that bother him at all? And is there any extra care I need to take when installing these kinds of things inside the enclosure? I've noticed my JCP likes to climb everything, and can you tell I've never had a PVC-type enclosure before? It's a big step up from tanks I can tell ya that, lol.

I've also heard/read from many sources that this size enclosure might not be big enough for him when fully grown, though I've seen a ton of random measurements like these:
2' x 2' x 4'
2' x 2' x 3'
6' x 2' x 2'
6' x 2' x 3'
4' x 2' x 18"
So [hopefully] understandably I'm a little confused ._. I'm unsure of how to remedy this other than by tacking another cage onto the one he'll be getting, it'd look like a tetris block though, and it'd be kind of expensive XD Any help/recommendations/suggestions would be appreciated ^^; As for enclosure recommendations, I can't do DIY and I'm in Canada so my options are really limited :/ Thanks in advance! :3

For radiant heat panels, check out Welcome to Pro-Products! (http://www.pro-products.com/) Email Bob and describe your setup (size, material, room type, ambient room temps, etc) and he will tell you exactly what panel you need and the price. As long as you put the bulb on a timer during normal daylight period it won't bother him... they do live outside in the wild :) I think the cage size would work if he isn't huge, but 3 feet of length would be even better if you can get it

There is a supplier of radiant heat panels in Ontario. Pm me for details.
Most JCPs will be fine in a 3x2x2. I assume you mean the Powerhouse arboreal pvc cage?
Its very nice. Yes they need stuff to climb and no I would not use a heat bulb just a heat panel. I have 3 carpets and am currently building 2 enclosures because my female is a but big for that size cage. Feel free to ask me any questions.
So where are the pics ? ;)

I use 4x2x1 Boaphile cages or 4'x 20" x14" tubs. Electra my big Jungle is in a 8x2x1 Boaphile cage. She 8'4" and 14 lbs.

That is one beefy jungle lady. Do you have a pic on here somewhere?

I know, though reptiles can stress out over the smallest things, don't want fake sunlight pissing him off [he seems to have an attitude, I hope he grows out of it, lol]. Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out; hoping they can ship to Canada too? ["U.S. only" sellers make me sad :/]

Local is always good, I'll PM ya later if I remember XD And yes, the Powerhouse arboreal-type cage, I was hoping it would be okay for my JCP fully grown, it's hard to find good quality cages [which I hear Powerhouse's aren't the best...], let alone ones for arboreal types here x.x Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? XD I have a small hammock thing that he really likes hanging in, only thing is he's too big for it now and the suction cups keep unsticking XD Can suction cups work well in PVC cages? Or should I go with something solid like a little shelf/ledge for him to lie on instead? In addition to the climbing branches of course.
I have a feeling someone will have a snarky remark about something "wrong" in my pics, but anyways, here ya go:

Ah, I can't seem to find local places that make enclosures that tall, sucks being in Canada sometimes :/ Thanks for the input though, that sounds like a good size.

Boaphile has some nice stuff, though I've had them in mind the import fees are not so nice x.x
o.o Oh wow, she's a huge JCP! I hear the males stay a little bit smaller though, which is better for me XD
