Hey guys I am interested in purchasing a MALE green anaconda. I live in Hamilton, Ontario and I am willing to pay the proper price. If there is anyone in the area or in any nearby cities selling a BABY or YOUNG MALE green anaconda please let me know!!
Also i'd love to see some pics of your adult greens. especially males, i believe they reach lengths of 10-12 foot, alot smaller than the females.

I do not have any help but just like any other snake you should always do your research. If you already did then great, if you are doing your research now then great.
Extremely illegal here in Hamilton. You need to check with your by laws. Keeping snakes that are illegal just ads more strain on the hobby...

He already owns a Yellow female Anaconda. So he know all about them. :)
How is your Yellow doing? Love to see some updated pictures. (hint, hint):)

I awarding 10 points for this instead of the usual 5 because it's just that important to mention.
It worries me enough that someone is looking for an illegal, but to post it in public worries me even more. Add that they've gone so far as to mention the town in which they're looking for it and we've got a 3-strike scenario.
That's the kind of stuff that does indeed put a strain our hobby.
I would say 4, due to the current animals he possesses...

Sorry for putting a strain on the hobby guys i don't have that intention. You are right thought about posting it online that was a mistake, and i am aware they are illegal, but that does not slow me down one bit. The area I am in and the way i care for my snakes, does not pose too big a risk of getting caught with the animal. once again that was totally stupid for posting it i just thought someone on here might have helped me out. but all my animals are healthy, and well cared for.
NOT the point.
It's keepers like you who put a black mark on the hobby.

Great. That random person keeps his kidnapped victim well and "healthy" and that makes everything legal! Sorry, just "not pose too big a risk".
Seriously, get rid of your illegal animals or move somewhere where they are.
As mkyee wrote.; it does not matter the condition you keep your snakes in. Bottom line is they are illegal in your area. So work on rehoming your current pets that are classified illegal in your area instead of getting more. When you get busted it will even be longer trying to change the by law.
Now I don't agree with the by laws in Hamilton regarding reptiles there are much worse things that are not controlled.
Rules are rules and if you don't intend on following them you should be punished. Imo

I agree with this Jay. Rules are rules currently. Work towards changing them instead of just giving an "f u" to them and work within them until things change.

When i said the way i care for my snakes, i ment the fact that i never take them out and they are never seen by those i don't want to see. (neighbors, pedestrians etc..) yes i know this does not make a difference in them being illegal or legal but there is a lower chance of me getting busted, than someone who displays thier snake to all. sorry for the confusion.
and i fully understand what you are all saying, if i do ever get busted i will rightfully take what ever punishment , fines, and accept them for my actions. I will give what you guys said alot of thought i must say no one really put it that way for me, since almost every reptile hobbist (ALMOST, not every single person) "breaks" the rules, and when you know people you see many burms, and other large snakes that are illegal.
glad you guys are explaining this all in a really understandable way and not just yelling at me lol

Posting on a public forum your location was not smooth.
The punishment will most likely result in you loosing your current residence and your snake being put down...

I have given this alot of thought and i do know that greens are HIGHLY illegal but i myself am willing to take the risk and the blame. to be honest my second choice besides the green conda was a BCC, true red tail boa. I will be giving this alot of thought now from what you guys have told me and making the hobby look bad, but still not sure. I believe anything over 10 foot is illegal. Boas have been known to reach 11-12 foot, does this make them illegal as well? someone give me a brief rundown of some large snakes LEGAL, from what they know here in Hammy.

You can't edit original posts. You have four(4) minutes after hitting the submit button to edit your post then the option is gone.
Secondly, I am not doing the research for you in regards to your local bylaws. They are online, go check.
Lastly, I know a lot of hobbiest, I also know they don't "break" the rules. They abide by them because they know what's on the line.
Sorry, that wasn't last. This is. Posting publicly your location and what you want is a bad idea like Jay said. Do people really think someone from the government doesn't monitor forums like this from time to time? My close friend has a job that is just scouring the internet for non-legit businesses and going after them with fines and such. I don't doubt they do the same for lawbreakers.

And i have done my research. thank you for your reply

I know for a fact that government agencies regularly monitor herp forums in the states.
Definitely not a smart move, and could definitely cost you your herps.

It was a very poor move and could cost others their herps as well. If people break the rules they will make more rules and we all will suffer for your actions.

Since so many others are chiming I thought I would as well. First, I will say I will not defend the OP on this thread. We all know that you dont broadcast the fact that you keep and seek more illegal snakes on a public forum. It looks bad on everybody and puts his own collection at risk. I myself have a permit allowing me to keep any big snake the state allows. I know this was necessary if Im going to keep big snakes in Des Moines. All that having been said, from what Im reading, the OP already knows this himself and wishes he could "put the cat back in the bag". Further harping on him is unproductive and further emanates the stench of condemnation. I think in order for this thread to die, the OP needs to quit replying to accusations and just "let the cards fall where they may". Hopefully this thread will get buried and we can all move on to bigger and better things. Whether or not this will happen is beyond me. I can only hope.

You could always ask Infernalis to delete the thread for you - It might be wise to just wipe this one off the map ;)

If you currently own illegal animals and admit it here you need to both delete your thread and your account. Start new and keep it to yourself your breaking the law.
