Corns breeding w/o post brum shed

Okaee, got two female corns, who have copulated that have not yet had their post brumation shed. My boyfriend had a corn that wasn't interested in breeding til she shed. My own two, however, have not shed, but have bred with the male. Is this normal? Does this affect fertility? Any idea why they haven't shed yet?
