Hello everyone
ive been biulding some custom snake enclosures for some of my smaller snakes. Along with my columbian i have a peublan and two balls one pastel and one im not sure if shes regular or some other genes. And one lutistic texas rat. I took a book shelf and started converting it into a display cage. I put plywood for the back and i made my own styrafoam backround and i instaled florecent tube lighting in all three sections. And i put weels on the bottom for easy moving. I also used rope heating under each level. If anybody has any good sugestions or ideas i would love to here them. Thanks everyone.

What is the foot print of each section? And what exactly are you housing on each level?

im going to be housing a lutistic texas rat on the top level and a pueblan milk on the middle and a ball python on the bottom i still have to finish it with the sliding glass front each level will have its own entrance. i need to get a more updated pic of how it looks ive done alot of work to it since. but thanks guys for your interest. oh yeah the backround is father along as well i grouted, painted and sealed it with a product called seal all.

A ball python won't use that vertical space. They need a longer enclosure rather than a taller one. Just something to think about...

If you are housing a rat snake, a milk and a ball then why did you call it a home made boa enclosure?

because i am also making a boa enclosure aand im looking for some ideas and coments on this one so i can put them towards my boa enclosure. its going to be eight foot long four feet hight and four foot depth. i know ball pythons like floor space but the two i have seem to love to climb as well so its sort of a mix of both. tonight ill measure it so you can get a better idea of size. it seem small in the picture but ive had them in it to see how they react and they seem to enjoy it. and also if i find they out grow that i always have a back up enclsure for future pets or i can always sell it after. this one is my trial run to get the kinks out.

First, that's an AWESOME enclosure! Really nice job. I agree with the others, maybe not perfect for your species. Have a look at some of these enclosures. There are several people here with tons of creativity and skills:
